The Pentax WPi has been replaced by the W10. It’s specs are virtually identical to the Olympus — both have the bigger and brighter 2.5″ LCD. Both will break if you drop them from more than a couple of feet — add the silicone skin to the Pentax and it’s just as durable in a drop and you won’t ding the aluminum case.
The w10 is available at Henrys for $399. Not sure about the Olympus. I bought the Pentax W10 last month in the US for less.
It’s remarkable for paddling shots (still and video) — I’m sure the Olympus is too.
I would not put it in my pfd — that leaves the LCD or lens too exposed. Although it’s waterproof, I carry it in a hard wp cellphone case (small) and clip it in my OC1. It tolerates the hard knocks and bangs.
My choice between the Olympus and Pentax came down to the storage cards. The Pentax uses standard SD cards and the Olympus uses a propietary format.
