Actually we were up there on Saturday. I made up my mind not to say anything negative, but I do have to correct you, Jeff. The attainment was best (i.e. difficult but not impossible) when the lake was low and the river was medium or even high. You had to catch the wave off the rocks on river-left just right and do a controlled surf into the Ottersilde eddy. When the lake is high and the river low it is too easy to count as an attainment. Yesterday I was jut paddling straight up the river-left side; no real attainment, just a bit of work. Being a left-handed paddler I had trouble with the new pile of rocks in the river-right eddy, but no big deal exiting the eddy. I just have to remember them (and the new “wall” on the left) coming from upstream – they hurt when you forget them. No more tight eddy turns at the bottom.
