    Hi:

We asked for 130 to 160 cms. They are telling us they will provide a minimum of 125 cms.

    PLEASE NOTE:

We have been using incorrect numbers in references to the flows in the Kipawa River.

The rule curve (the calculation that transforms the guage level information into cms flows) changed in the late 1990s, and we’ve only now become aware of that.

Our normal rally level of 160 to 200 cms is actually 130 to 160 cms according to the Environment Canada guage.

So NORMAL RALLY LEVELS for the weekend.

ie much much higher than last year, when PWGSC attempted to wreck the rally by flushing a bunch of water through the week before and then providing the lowest release they have ever given us for the event.

    Hope to see everyone there.

Hmm, maybe too munchy for my Kingpin. I quite liked the level last year in my playboat .

That depends on how comfy you are in pushy class 4. A couple of the drops are certainly a handful in a playboat. However, there are some fun spots for playing on the river. The ideal boat is probably a river-runner like the Innazone or I3.

I’ll probably borrow my friends G-Ride as a compromise between my creek boat and playboat. Last year, at the lower level, I paddled an EZ and had a blast. However, I’m not feeling quite brave enough to tackle Hollywood in my tiny Kingpin.
