Anyone heard of the courier de bois group? Ottawa area maybe? I heard they have a group that paddles lots, but on easier stuff (aka not the upper black).

    Try here

You’re right, they paddle alot, they’re based in Ottawa and they’re paddling the Upper Black today…
Like the previous guy posted, check out the website.

Had a great day on the Upper Black with the CDB. Great club to belong to, highly recommend joining. RW

Good club… Great people… They put up with me!!!

They will paddle the Upper Black… Hell some of them do a Moose trip in the fall… They are not huge into play boating (park and play), but they do a lot of different rivers in a year! They will get on the Achigan and Bonnie Brook sometime soon I would imagine…

Members in the club try to have fun on and off the the river. We like Alex because he is most entertaining … not too many folks can cartwheel a creeker.

We are are on the river almost every weekend throughout the season. Spring paddling is limited to wherever there is water and this year is going to be short if there is no rain.

If you have any questions on how trips are organized or how the club operates, send an email to and I’ll be happy to answer them.

CdB is an amazing club, you just send an email around when you’re paddling and chances are you’ll find at least one person who’s game. no matter what day or time of year it is. There are many skill levels and people who like to play, like me, and people who like to river run, and both.
