In search of water a friend and I decided to give up playboating in small boney little holes because of low water and venture up north. Only going with tourist photos and a vague whitewater book we drove many hours to make some first descents on the grass river. My dad recently converted his Passat TDI to run on used canola oil so i borroed the car and took a jerry can along. It only cost 60$$ and we drove for 20 hours plus in total. Talk about easy on the wallet. Well the trip was a success and we put some of the bigger falls on the to do list when there is less water. We only broke a boat, a helmet and a video camera but all are repairable.
