hey, im in the city for a week and have heard there are many good playspots around the city, wondering if anyone wants to go paddlin this week, i can paddle anytime this week, just let me know.
champlain bridge is in right now (bates island)
no updates since last week, but the ottawa is in flood – last level I heard was 14
I’ve listed a number of spots in Ottawa at: [url:2w0oy5sn]http://metroottawakayak.kayakblogs.com/index.php[/url:2w0oy5sn]
Right now the Deschenes medium / high water spot is best. Champlain is starting to come up. The Back Bacon at Hogs Back may be good as well… depending on what this rain has done.
I’d be interested in checking out deschennes if you want – I’ve never been but I know how to get htere… Wednesday afternoon, 4pm ish if you’re interested.. bunch of folks will be at Champlain then too… PM me if interested.
Deshenes will be alot of fun today. The level is on the high side for good eddy service if you flip, but the wave will be great. Its rising fast though.
TIP: If you miss the main eddy on river left, catch the next one or two down and just lift over. You’ll see what I mean. You can also hand a rope from the tree above on river left .
