I’m bringing a couple beginner open boaters to the Gull this weekend just to practice at the bottom below the Otter Slide. Any predictions on the level and as it stands right now would it still be worth it?
I was there a couple of days ago – it might of changed, but it was a small run, and the wavetrain had waves about 1 meter wide by .5 meters high. Good for practising eddy turns and the like. Personally I got bored of those and went for the run under whitehorse falls. My friend took a spill at the hole on river right and got scrapped, I made It and had to catch his boat, lol – which by the way went all the way into the lake!
at low levels like this is it still alright….is there still play at earls? Ive never been there at these crapy levels but i’m still comming up this weekend for a change of scenery. What am i in for?[/quote:39fsf0y9]
The upper is still clean for river running. The dam is an awesome, boof – probably 7′ that you have to land very flat if you don’t want to hit bottom. The middle section is boney, but still runnable. There are 3 really nice small boofs at this level.
Earl’s: surfable, spinnable and bluntable if you are very smooth.
Otterslide: Great if the lake is up. Surfable, spinnable, bluntable.
