I’ve scouted this a few times, serious class V at high levels.

Be warned that the pulp and paper mill, managing that part of the river do not wan’t anybody anywhere close to the shore. They have monitoring system, cameras and all sorts of measures to keep you out of there. Funny thing, every time I scouted and walked the shore, as soon as I would get close to a certain spot, an alarm would go off…Big brother is watching, and I wasn’t dressed to paddle, imagine a few guys(girls) with boats

The scarry part is that water only flows a couple of weeks a year, rocks forming the river bed are not smooth and round they’re sharp and dangerous.

This run + or – 2 km long would take a good day of scouting(major drops and rock slides), setting up security, having just the right level to run everything is near impossible. Could be perfect at 9:00 and gone when your all ready to run it at 11:00.

We would definitely require the permission of the authorities(to set up safety and scouting properly) and their cooperation as far as river flows.(they control the dam up stream).

Harder then running this serious class V would be getting permission to do so

    Good Luck !
