    Hi Everyone,

I have a Wave Sport Score (8’3″, 58 gallons) and weigh it down pretty well (230 lbs). I am wondering how the kayak should be trimmed. Should the bow and the stern be at even depths on the water, or one or the other riding higher/lower?

    Any help appreciated,

    Mike

Ideally, the boat should be level or slightly nose heavy when you are sitting up in a good paddling position (not leaning back on the back band). If you need to get the nose up momentarily, it’s pretty easy to lean back and use a strong forward stroke to do that.

Use the seam line on the boat to judge how well it is trimmed – probably easiest to get someone to look at you from a few feet away.
