    Hey Guys,
I am looking for a relatively inexpensive flatwater canoe. It has to be relatively light and have a decent yolk. If you can send photos that would be great, and let me know an asking price.

This is the whitewater board – post this on the flatwater board

    To answer your question:
A relatively inexpensive, but lite-ish boat would be fiberglass. For a 16 foot boat that would be approximately 69lbs, and $1049 (new).

Evergreen makes some good designs – such as the prospector, the cottager, and the willow, among many more…all the same price, all in FG. There are kevlar versions of these boats, (20lbs lighter) – but they are double the price.
Langford and swift make similar boats, but I find them not as well built and designed as Evergreen’s.

    Hope that helps.

I will repost on the flatwater board. I am aware of canoe makes and models, just hoping to find a relatively cheep used one for a friend. Personally I would love to see them by new, but I dont think its in the budget.

    Thanks again,
