I think I’ve finally worn out my old drytop and It’s time for a new one. Unfortunatley, there are no paddling stores near London so I can’t check any out in person and might have to buy on-line….

Just taking a poll really to see….

    WHAT IS [i:2kq2j2f1]YOUR[/i:2kq2j2f1] FAVORITE DRYTOP?

Stohlquist Freefall. Very nice features, breathable and durable.

I’ve had mine one full year and I expect this is going to be one seriously long lived top. I really like it.

I’m still paddling with my Stholquist Gripp. Its gore-tex emersion so its gret and breathable, had some great features like neoprene elbow pads and re-inforced shoulders. I’ve been happy with it for the past 5 seasons.

I bought a Level Six Dry Mac early this year and it’s awsome. Very high quality, well made, durable, easy on off. I’d Highly recommend it.

NRS makes some pretty killer drytops although I’m not sure of any retail outlets around Ottawa that carry them any more.

Im a fan of Palm Equipment as well. It has just the right cut for me, and is a very durable material. Mine is going on 4 or 5 years now, with just minor issues (drawstring wearing out, velcro getting a little less sticky).

I also have a palm and it has been ok, not great. The neck gasket died after 3 or 4 seasons.

After year 2, it wasn’t all that dry anymore.

My other issue is with the velcro closures at the bottom. They have some stretchy type material around there that keeps ripping apart.

The top is pretty durable. I’ve scraped it up against rocks etc and no rips so far.

I just picked up a Level 6 Mack dry top from MEC for $200.00. There are going quick and some sizes are sold out. I was going to wait for next years model to come out but I think I got a good deal. I hope I like the top as much as young gun 123 does.
