-Trailhead (in conjunction with Wavesport kayaks….a chance to try out some boats)-Trailhead will also be holding an event at Bertania Beach on Sunday morning, prior to the continuence of our event, for those interested. It is a flatwater fun event (more details later).
There will also be other booths to see! (we are simply waiting for confirmation). But, I am working on some exciting sponsors for the event for everyone to enjoy!

*We are also planning a “team” event for some fun and laughter. I will supply more details later. In the meantime, I will give you a hint……It has nothing to do with kayaking, but everything to do with the water!*

We have live music, food, and bleachers for your family to enjoy while watching you compete. Some of the best paddlers in Canada will be there to check out as well!

Registration is between 7:30am and 8:00am (Do NOT be late). We need ALL competitors there in order to fill out waivers and such, as well as making sure everyone is there and paid. We will also be going over the heats in each category, rules, judging etc. in the morning.

    [b:39ng69ed][u:39ng69ed]NOTE:[/u:39ng69ed][/b:39ng69ed]
When you register through email, please provide me with your T-Shirt size so we can do our best to be sure everyone receives the right sizing.
Also, if you would like to provide me with some information about yourself, I can pass it along to the announcer for when you compete. Please keep in mind that everyone will hear, so keep it farely short and simple. We are simply looking for who you are, what you do, where you paddle and years doing it, and maybe some info on what you like to do for fun![/b]

I’m a lady. Can I spin to win? Because that’s pretty much all I can do. Oh, and will you give points for enders? I’m good at that!!

If you give him another one, I’m sure he won’t use it for kayaking, but he may get a lot of enjoyment throwing it into a huge hole and watch it pull off some sick moves….

    Hahaha

what a cool idea. Maybe persons finding “Bertania Beach” should get a real big prize. Or at this time of year maybe it should be called Brrrtania Beach.

Will Trailhead be at Britannia Beach??? for the flatwater enthusiasts.

Hey Amber as a 42 year old participant, already signed, I would love it if there was an over 40 category. Anybody from Coureur De Bois game to try, Larry, Bill, Rob…, ha, ha, ha, this time I get to throw down the gauntlet !

Thank you all for your support. This award came as such a surprise to me, and with so many other great competitors. I guess I just gave 110% and in the end it all worked out… (too much playoff SportsCentre).

Anyway Amber, thanks for the offer but it doesnt work in my boat (Orbitfish). The cockpit is too high.

    P.

BTW – if the wind does happen to inadvertently blow your Level Six play Bladder into the huge hole below the Chenaux dam, it makes for a rather amusing 10 minutes. Nice to see the seams hold!

Ok, lets see if I can answer all these questions…..

Larry- Yes, Trailhead will be organizing an event for flatwater enthusiast. They are holding an event on Sunday morning to give people the opportunity to try out some boats, but I am not sure which beach it will be at. I am not sure of the details yet because I am waiting to hear from them with a schedule. I am sure you can visit their store location for more details.

Now, I believe we now have 2 challenges for the over 40 category. 3 more and we can make this a go……how fun!

Ok, problem…..I am still not seeing a lot of ladies representing. I have had a few register, but I want more. Maybe I should start challenging all of you out there by competing myself! (I’m such a big talker….I may be the sister of Tyler Curtis, but definately NOT a threat in a kayak, unless of course it is “spin to win”……watch out!heehee!).

Phitty, you are so funny! You made my day with the comment about the bladder entertaining you for 10 minutes surfing in a hole……I can just picture a bunch of guys watching a bladder and laughing (oh man, small things amuse the minds of men……that’s why guys are so amusing, I love it!)

Don’t forget on Sunday we have opportunities to try out some boats and gear from the booths set up. We will also have the “Big Tricks” Comp on Sunday sponsored by Auto Raks. The best cheer from the crowd wins, and it’s just for fun!

NOTE: I will be announcing the “fun” event on…..hmm, probably Friday!
