The kayak fishing is world class. You can catch giant Snook (kind of like a saltwater bass) up to 30lbs in most of the mangrove parks (they fight like monsters). I’ve done it… It’s awesome. You paddle in and out of little tidewater channels totally overgrown with mangroves. There’s a good spot near Fort Lauderdale (where I went), but I think there are good spots all over the place…..
Otherwise ocean surf… Just south of Daytona is the best surfing in Florida; Cocoa Beach. It’s considered very good by international standards when it’s in, but it’s very inconsistent. You basically need to be there when there’s a hurricane out in the Atlantic, ‘cuz that’s when the surf is 7-10 feet… Otherwise the surf is 1-3 feet at best.
