Went there yesterday and sure enough, true to word we have a great access up top! It’s about 8 feet wide to accommodate folks carrying boats!
They have set up a cantina using one of the winter Canal huts – BTW Claude, it had to be that far away from the beach as the site was already prepared from the last building. Reuse, recycle and save $!
Next item on the plate is the beach. They have lined it with flat stone and are resodding/seeding between the stone and parking. There is a small “fence” of plastic sheet to prevent the soil from sliding down to the beach. I’ve asked the NCC rep to mayby lay down a small strip of gravel so we trod in only in one spot to aide the grass in taking hold. And avoid getting too much of that rich manure mixed soil into our boots and river!
It’s too bad the center wave isn’t there anymore and that island would be perfect. Maybe the NCC will build us a new wave . The island looks great. I went to work on some faltwater stuff the other day and ended with a drink and burger at the new restaurant. I’m looking forward to next spring there.
