The flows are dropping on most runs. Good paddling has definitly shifted away from the Hwy 7 runs, but there is plenty of water elsewhere. Best Bets:

    [u:1am1lqaz][b:1am1lqaz]Running[/b:1am1lqaz][/u:1am1lqaz]
    Petawawa
    Lower Mad
    Upper Mad
    Opeongo
    Magnetewan
Ottawa – big water fun! Check out Coliseum for Grand Canyon sized waves

[u:1am1lqaz][b:1am1lqaz]Play[/b:1am1lqaz][/u:1am1lqaz] (No P&P spots jump-out at these levels)
    Petawawa
Lower Mad – not at Hass, but some good surf down the run
Moon (If you know how to get in)

    [u:1am1lqaz][b:1am1lqaz]Steeps[/b:1am1lqaz][/u:1am1lqaz]
Oxtongue – down to a more reasonable, but still good level
    Moose – release on Sunday

The Drag in Haliburton is not running, and I just got word that Sharp’s in Bracebridge is down as well.

Have a great weekend, unless you have other plans!!

Quebec City is starting to run, and most of the larger Laurentian rivers are running as well.

it’s running around 5,100 cfs. If I’m converting properly.
I don’t think the two major drops are runnable over 3,500.

Am I remembering the levels correctly?

Kind of a long drive to walk Poverty Bay and Sellers.

What about the Ox? I don’t remember the levels for it. Is it all runnable at the current level?

I get about the same cfs (52244) as you do Kevin. As for runnability, I am not sure: I don’t have enough experience on the Mag to know.

The Oxtongue is runnable at this level. I would expect Horseshoe to be one long, continuous rapid, as opposed to the 2 stage rapid that it turns into at lower levels.

Kevin is right, at this flow, the main line (river right) at povery bay is very meaty with the potential of a sound thrashing and getting recirced in the last drop.
But the left side sneak line should still be open, down the slide hugging the on left side shore and then down the creek line on the far left.

Sellers however is a different story at this level, I personally would consider the almosrt river wide hole at the bottom of Sellers terminal. I have seen Geoff Boyd run it at a similar level last year, but I personally perefer to walk it until that hole looks more sane.
If anyone runs the Mag this weekend, take out before you enter the little canyon above sellers and have a look at the rapid and particularly the bottom hole, it would be a very nasty place to be!

The rest of the rapids are great at this level, big water and pushy. Still worth it IMHO, even when not running the main line on Poverty Bay and when portageing Sellers.

    TGG!
