Last year someone was asking about Whitewater Parks and a list of the ones in North America/the World.
Here is a new, up-to-date list I found incase anyone is interested!
    Cheers

    Cool!
We should forward it on to the webmaster of the other site so they can add it to their list…

theres also the pumphouse in ottawa, not sure if its back running again or not but i imagine it will be eventually. Its too bad they dont modify the course there while its under construction to make it more like valleyfeilds, play friendly course.

Does anybody have any additional info on valleyfield?

Does it run all year round?

I’m moving to montreal next week, and its pretty close, so I’m wondering whether its worth heading over there?

It is primarily a slalom course and training centre, but there are a couple of worthwhile play spots. Valleyfield has apparently invested in their whitewater facility, improving access and landscaping the banks. I’m not sure how long it stays open into the winter, but the water is fairly fast flowing through there so I imagine you’d probably have open water til January depending on the weather. A local could give better info.

Valleyfield is hosting a slalom race September 16

Locals paddle this throughout the year. The upper section remains ice free.

    Hey James,

Valleyfield is a great spot and yeah it is open year round.

The top wave is great for the latest moves. Really retentive and deep enough for loops without hitting the bottom.
The rest of the course has some decent holes waves too. (just a bit bony in places).

For those who care: the big air ramp was removed as requested by the mall owners and city. (It became a liability thing…)Too bad… it will be missed.

If you are moving to Montreal it is worth the drive out.
The water quality is a lot better than habitat and Lachine too. (Even thought the water is not near as big).

If you are heading out that way drop us a note. http://www.cornwallwhitewater.com
Maybe we will see you there sometime.
