Three days at the Gull. ?Supposedly 8.5 according to the stick gauge? I agree with your impression Rheos. The stick gauge is reading lower than in previous years for a given river level. Maybe with the heavy rains and flows in the Spring, the gauge itself is sitting a bit higher and thus reading a bit on the low side. Just my impression. I don’t recall multiple locations on river right being washed over at 8.5 not to mention this many large rocks in the middle of the river either.

Wish I could have been there. I miss the old days with Thom, Ed, Steve, Gary and the Wildrock guys, etc, ripping up the river. Hasn’t been the same in years, although it’s always a good day on the river 😀 Looking forward to next year.

Have heard back from WO and we’ve been discussing the situation. They have a lot on their plate this year and after corresponding, I am hopeful, that we will come up with something to reduce the chance of this situation causing any angst in the future. Thank you WO. cheers, Thane

I hope the ministry/hydro powers that be don’t dump so much water in the short term, that there isn’t water for later on as has happened from time to time in the past (I’m a retired Hydro worker but a power plant mechanic, so don’t blame me or the local dam mtce guys for your hydro bill.) Looking forward to getting back to the Preserve for some paddling and camping. BTW… When is the spring cleanup weekend scheduled for? And many thanks Thom and others for the level updates. For those of us coming from hours away, it’s good to have level trends of the Gull to try to plan paddling trips with best percentages of hitting good levels.
